Emily has been an active volunteer for various Habitat for Humanity chapters and affiliates since 2000. She’s been a Board Member for the Pennsylvania SSO since 2014 and has been volunteering with the Greater Pittsburgh affiliate since 2010 where she chairs the Family Liaison and Selection Committee as a Board Member. Emily traveled to Brazil in 2013 and Romania in 2015 through Habitat’s Global Village program. She earned a B.A. in Comparative Cultures and German from Alfred University and an M.S. Ed. in English as a Second Language from Duquesne University. Professionally, she works as the Director of Client Services and Interpreting Services Manager at a Pittsburgh-based translation company. Before moving back to Pittsburgh at the end of 2009, Emily spent 6 years in Europe studying the German language and culture and teaching English in multiple schools and institutes in Austria, Slovakia, and Hungary.
